Linux Mint Tools

This is a post a small program I wrote for Linux Mint called Screen Grab. It's helping me share screen captures of changes I am making to Orbliterate! with some students.

I wrote it because I found there were a few problems with the default screen capture utility. I was upgrading my development workstation to the most recent version Mint and was going through some extensions I had written for Gimp when I noticed the Print Screen key does not work while a menu is opened.

The video above gives a pretty good overview of my Screen Grab utility. In short, it fixes some of the problems I have with capturing screen shots. There are a few other tools highlighted in this program, and all of them are available for free as MIT licensed on my Github page.
  • Screen Grab A better screen capture utility for Linux Mint
  • Mouse Trail A mouse and keyboard highlighter applet utility for Linux Mint
  • Piano Roll A midi music player for Linux that uses real instrument samples
Enjoy!
